I have been working for a few months on securing some land that I can garden on. Yes I currently garden here at home, but I have very little ground to use. I have pulled out a few old, not very nice looking shrubs so that I could obtain a little more space, but it still isn't much.
My dream is to have a large garden. I want to be able to grow at least 90% of the fruit and vegetables that my family will eat. I am willing to put in all the time and effort to can and freeze everything that we don't eat right away to sustain us through the rest of the year.
So today when a seed catalog came in the mail, I was so thrilled to sit down and dig through it. I made a wish list of everything I would like to grow if I can get as much land as I would like. I am sure I will have to cut my list down, but until I have ground secured I won't know how much, but I will continue dreaming.

that's a nice dream. gardening is a great hobby. hope you secure your land sure. good luck!
Good luck with this. :) We grow much of our fruits and veggies.
If you have little space, be aware of how large things will grow in relativity to how much food you get off them.
I found that snap peas take a lot of room for little yield.
On the other hand, zucchini takes very little space and as few as three plants can feed a family of four daily for months.
Also look into companion planting - you can save lots of space and time that way.
