I have started another blog!

I have officially started another blog which will be all about our new journey on our little homestead.

Here is a picture of the south of the house with the driveway finally finished!  That was a lot of rock to get all raked out the way we wanted but it is very fulfilling to see it finally done.  My goal is to be completely moved in by October 1st.

New Years Eve

I am having a few friends and their kids over for New Years Eve. I am not serving a meal because people won't be coming tell around 8:00 so that I can have the baby sleeping first. So I have snack food planned, which is great since everything is easy to put together and put on platters since I have to work that day.

Chips
2 different homemade dips
Celery w/peanut butter
4 kinds of cheese
2 kinds of summer sausage
lots of crackers
tortilla chips
homemade cheesy bean dip
little smokies in bbq sauce
pretzels (for the one kid who doesn't like chips)

Alcoholic punch
and told people to bring other drinks if they want it

and for the kids
Sparkling grape juice
Sprite
Root Beer


What is everyone else snacking on for New Years Eve?

No Grocery Shopping Today

Well, I tried to go to the grocery store today but when I pulled into the parking lot it was packed! And I just hate to shop in a store when it is packed, so I pulled right back out. I will just go on Monday, I am sure we can make it till then.

I did however make it to Dollar General to pick up a few cute Christmas containers, baskets, and whisks to use in making some Christmas presents.

And then I stopped at a Redbox to rent Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs for our family movie night. And that will be starting in a few minutes, so I better get ready!

The celebration is over

The weekend Birthday bonanza is over. Everyone had a great time. We ate, opened presents, talked, and played at the park across the street. The ice cream cakes were a big success too. My son's birthday isn't until the 18th, so we will have a small family supper with a few of his first grader friends then.

This Weekend

I am still trying to go through a few boxes every evening to get ready for the garage sale. But that is taking a back seat to the celebration this weekend. My family will be coming to my house to celebrate my son's 7th birthday, my nephew's 15th birthday, and my mothers birthday. So I have planned all the meals, drinks, and snacks. I have made my shopping lists for two grocery stores which I plan to shop at tomorrow evening. And of course I have to do some extra cleaning which I started tonight and will have to finish tomorrow night. And then I will start working on the ice cream cakes Friday when I get home from work and then everyone will be here around supper time on Friday. And we will celebrate all day Saturday. So you probably won't hear from me during this time. Hopefully everything will go wonderfully and a good time will be had by all!!

Labor Day

I hope everyone had a nice and safe weekend. The weather was very nice here, and we really enjoyed the three day weekend. We spent Saturday and today riding our four wheelers at John's parents farm. Sunday we just kinda hung out at home. I spent two hours in the garage going through more boxes and then after supper we all sat down to watch the race, but since it ran so late, we all fell asleep before it was over, LOL.
